Weight Loss Program Our physician supervised weight loss program uses the newest technology in weight loss. Our program is medically supervised and may include prescription medication as well as a planed exercise program.
Bone Densometry A bone density level is used for diagnosing and monitoring osteoporosis. This is a simple painless test which takes less then 10 minutes. Osteoporosis, thinning of the bones, is most common in women after menopause. Women who are at risk should have a screening test.
Electrocardiogram An ECG/EKG is used for routine evaluation of the heart. It is used to evaluate chest pain and palpitations. This simple test can detect heart attacks.
Exercise Stress Testing Stress testing is used for more detailed evaluation of the heart. It can detect signs of angina, a risk for heart attacks. Also it can be used to screen patients with multiple risk factors for heart disease.
24-Hour Holter Monitoring The Holter monitor is used to evaluate the heart rhythm. It can determine the cause of palpitations, black out spells, dizziness, fluttering, or chest pain.
Echocardiography An ECHO takes a picture of your heart with sound waves. This test can examine the valves and the motion of the heart chambers. It can be used in patients who have heart failures or have had a heart attack to see how well the heart pumps. It is frequently used in the evaluation of chest pain.
Peripheral Vascular Testing Peripheral vascular disease indicate that the blood flow to the arms and legs is blocked. People with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking, and diabetes are at risk for this. By checking the pressure of blood flow through the legs, we can determine if further evaluation is necessary. A sign of poor blood flow to the legs, is aching in the calves while walking.
Pulmonary Function Testing PFT's evaluate the breathing capacity and breathing effort. It can be used to evaluate the patient for asthma or emphysema. It can also evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of lung disease. This test is used to evaluate persons with wheezing and shortness of breath.
Ultrasounds Ultrasounds are an evaluation of the body using sound waves to take pictures. We can look for gall stones, ovarian cysts, as well as other problems, bu ultrasound. Additionally we can check the blood flow in the neck by the ultrasound.
Audiometry Evaluation of hearing, is done by checking the ability to hear different frequencies at different volumes. We use this test to screen patients at risk for hearing loss who have continued exposured to loud noises or have a history of repeated ear infections.
Drug Screens Drug screens are performed by many employers to check for the use of illegal drugs. They may be used to screen job applicants, as well as to evaluate people involved in accidents. Some companies have instituted random drug screens to decrease the risk of a drug related accident. We also serve as a collection site for some companies.
Breath Alcohol Testing The Department of Transportation, as well as some employers, now require random breath alcohol testing on some CDL personal. Results of these tests are available immediately.
Pulse Oximetry This simple procedure can evaluate a patient's oxygen level by placing a clip on the finger. We can determine if the oxygen level is low, which might indicate pneumonia or emphysema.
Yearly Physical Exam This is a vital part of preventative medicine. All persons should have routine exams for evaluation of preventable and treatable diseases.
Skin Biopsy Skin biopsies can be done in the office. This usually involves local anesthesia followed by a biopsy. This specimen is sent to a certified pathologist for interpretation. This is used to determine of skin lesions are malignant.
